Salaam Venky, starring Kajol, is based on the real story of Kolavennu Venkatesh, a young chess player diagnosed with Duchenne muscular dystrophy (DMD) who sadly passed away in 2004. ZEE5 announced on Friday that Salaam Venky, starring iconic Bollywood actor Kajol, will have its digital premiere on February 10. The heart-warming slice-of-life drama, directed by Revathy and co-penned by Kausar Munir and Sameer Arora, released in cinemas on December 9.

Kajol expressed that working on Salaam Venky was an extremely emotional experience for her, as she could relate to her character Sujata as a mother of two. She further revealed that the film taught her to not worry about the future or dwell in the past, but to live life to the fullest. The actor expressed her pride and joy at being recognised for such a meaningful film and expressed her delight that fans can now watch it once again on ZEE5.

Salaam Venky, an upcoming movie on ZEE5 India, stars actors such as Aahana Kumra, Rahul Bose, Rajeev Khandelwal, Prakash Raj, Anant Mahadevan, and Priyamani in pivotal roles, with a special cameo by Aamir Khan.
