American streaming platform Netflix has announced its next Women centric dramedy film 'Kathal'. The film has also marked the directorial debut of Yashwardhan Mishra, who has also co-written the movie with Ashok Mishra. The comedy-drama has been co-produced by Balaji Telefilms Ltd. And Sikhya Entertainment. The film is a perfect mixture of Satire, Comedy, and unconventional storyline, says Guneet Monga.

The official release date of the film is 28th September 2022 and will be available on Netflix and the website. Film starring "The Dangal Girl" Sanya Malhotra in the lead role. Sanya is a well-known face on the OTT platform as she has worked in the dark comedy "Ludo(2020)", "Pagglait" comedy drama released in 2021, and the Romantic sequence Meenakshi Sundereshwar (2021).

Sanya is playing Police Inspector role, Mahima Basor. ALT Balaji's Virgin Bhasskar fame, Anant Vijay Joshi, also been seen along with Sanya in this series. The comedy-drama revolves around the young female Police officer Mahima Basor, who has decided to take the challenge of resolving an unusual case of missing "Jackfruit". The complaint is filed by a local politician of a tiny village belonging to rural India. The film is expected to be a unique, comedy, and engaging sequence for the audience.
